The Fishing

Fishing in ScotlandBased in the Borders on the mighty River Tweed, we are spoiled for choice when it comes to offering the visiting angler world-class fishing in idyllic locations. The Tweed is deservedly famous for its salmon, but less well known is the quality of brown trout and grayling fishing available, both on the main river and several of its tributaries. We are also within striking distance of the stunning River Annan, an under-fished gem in the south west of Scotland with impressive runs of sea trout as well as fine wild brown trout and grayling fishing. And last year the Annan enjoyed its best salmon season in a long time.

As with the above-mentioned two rivers, the Clyde also rises in the hills north of Moffat. It may be better known for its relationship with shipbuilding and Glasgow, but the middle and upper reaches of the Clyde also offers excellent brown trout and grayling fishing. Remote hill lochs for wild brown trout are also part of the Fish Wild deal.

Wild fishing in ScotlandNor are we confined to the Borders as the angling fraternity in Scotland is such that we have close connections with the best fishing available nationwide. Fishing on the Tay in Perthshire and its tributaries, particularly the Tummel and Earn is also offered, as is a wide choice of more northern brown trout lochs.

A special package is also available for the beautiful island of Islay, the southernmost island of the Inner Hebrides where the loch fishing for brown trout can be almost unbelievably good. Sea trout and salmon fishing can also be enjoyed on Islay and a little island hopping to neighbouring Jura will provide the more intrepid angler with a never-to-be-forgotten experience. Islay is known as the whisky isle and home to seven of our country’s finest single malts, including Bowmore, Laphroig and Ardbeg.

If Fish Wild can’t provide you with the ideal fishing package for your particular needs, we’ll know somebody who can. So get in touch, and share in our passion for fishing wild in Scotland.
